Our Nature-based Climate Solutions Team is at the forefront of developing and managing climate adaptation & mitigation projects. Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Senior Consultant for our Natural Climate Solutions (NCS) team in Southeast Asia (SEA). In this project management role, you will oversee the design, implementation, measurement, reporting and verification processes of nature-based climate mitigation projects in the region.

Reporting directly to the Head of Natural Climate Solutions (NCS), you will manage and lead the assigned project members, as well as work closely with consortium partners, standards bodies,  and other stakeholders to coordinate interventions at ground level and ensure the timely and effective delivery of project outcomes.

Main tasks & responsibilities:

• Manage the assigned NCS projects within the time and budget agreed upon and keep the internal and external project members informed of their progress
• Responsible for project implementation and management which includes leading/drafting feasibility studies and preparing documents for the project design, monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV) processes under different standards (Verra, Gold Standard, Plan Vivo and national or local standards)
• Define and plan content and structure to support the certification of the project: work plans, work schedules, budgets, and deliverables. This includes scheduling technical reviews and quality checks
• Closely collaborating with the Methodologies and Standards team throughout the project development cycle, ensure that project design matches carbon certification requirements
• Be the key point of contact and maintain a good relationship with the team members inside the company, project partners, clients, validation and verification bodies, and other counterparts
  Provide technical advisory and support to business development teams and other collaborators within the organisation
• Support proposals and contracting with project partners, and follow up with the internal procedures in Nusanterra's internal project management tool
• Support capacity building in growing our Nusanterra NCS team and activities in the assigned regions together with other relevant internal stakeholders; including building the most optimum teams and talented/ambitious project managers, ensuring all team members receive ongoing training and have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their work effectively

Requirements:

Essential -

• University Degree in natural resource management, forestry, ecology, climate change, environmental economics, environmental engineering, sustainability, carbon policy or other related fields is required; Master's Degree strongly preferred
• At least 3+ years of work experience in Forestry, Sustainability Consulting, Nature-based Climate solutions, climate-tech, or carbon market or related fields
• Extensive experience with carbon standards (VCS, CCB, Plan Vivo, Gold Standard) and methodology application/development
  Ability to manage targets and develop own goals while guiding and directing the work of others on projects and research, with thorough functional knowledge/expertise in the field of ALM, REDD+, ACoGS, ARR and other AFOLU-related topics
• Ability to work on assignments that are diverse in nature, applying company policies, processes and procedures to resolve a variety of issues/problems
• The capacity to solve relatively complex project-related problems independently, and receive general direction on new assignments or projects
• Have excellent verbal and written skills in English; Bahasa Malaysia is a bonus

• Demonstrated experience in project development and management, engagement with clients as well as communication on commercial & technical issues
• Experience managing technical projects with a diverse team of individuals and consultants.
• National, or holder of a valid work visa in Malaysia
