Nusanterra is a homegrown startup that seeks to integrate Malaysian Nature-based Climate Solutions (NCS) into the global response to the climate crisis. Nusanterra’s purpose in the Voluntary Carbon Market (VCM) is to bring together the necessary partners and processes to deliver certified high-quality carbon credit projects for carbon-conscious investors seeking bankable solutions. The Nusanterra team combines diverse backgrounds from industry, consultancy, climate policy and conservation to support private sector companies reach their Net-Zero targets through decarbonisation and natural climate solutions. 

NCS involving the protection and restoration of natural ecosystems such as forests, wetlands and mangroves, have the potential to provide 1/3 of the emission reduction targets by 2030. NCS are both cost-effective and provide significant additional benefits by supporting biodiversity and generating income for rural communities. The VCM has gained significant attention in recent years as individuals, corporations, and governments seek to offset their carbon emissions. The market is expected to grow to $10-40 billion in value by 2030, transacting 0.5-1.5 billion tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent, compared with 500 million tonnes currently.

Our Nature-based Climate Solutions Team is at the forefront of developing and managing climate adaptation & mitigation projects. By working closely with ministries, green finance funders, project developers, NGOs, land owners and as well as their local communities, we manage the complete registration, verification and evaluation of carbon projects to enable the issuance of emission-reduction certificates, in line with official carbon standards. Senior Consultant

The senior consultant for nature-based climate solutions will lead the development and implementation of projects that deliver climate benefits through the protection and restoration of natural ecosystems. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering successful projects, a deep understanding of the science and policy of nature-based climate solutions, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and partners. Responsibilities will include leading project teams, developing and implementing project proposals, managing budgets and timelines, and providing technical expertise and guidance to team members and clients.

Junior Consultant

The junior consultant for nature-based climate solutions will work closely with the senior consultant and other team members to develop and implement projects that deliver climate benefits through the protection and restoration of natural ecosystems. The successful candidate will have a strong academic background in environmental science, natural resource management, or related fields, and a passion for applying this knowledge to address climate change. Responsibilities will include conducting research, analysing data, developing project proposals, and working with clients and partners to implement projects.
